1993~1997年，陝西師範大學政治經濟學院，思想政治教育專業本科，法學學士。
1997~2000年，陝西師範大學中文系，中國現當代文學專業碩士。
2000~2003年，北京大學中文系，中國現當代文學專業博士。

2003年至今，西安交通大學PP电子學院中文系任教
2005年7月，受聘爲副教授
2005年7月，被任命爲PP电子學院教學助理

出书主要專著包罗：《藝術導論》、《視覺素養導論》、《陝西文化産業實戰研究》、《〈紅樓夢〉與中國現代文學》、《老子新學》、《老學六經》、《易經新學》、《易經全集》、《易經的智慧》、《道德經注解》、《紀錄片創作完全手冊》、《創意設計與時尚美學》、《百年間上下求索：中國近代思想解放曆程》、《中外美術史》、《中國現當代文學導論》等。
主持國家社會科學基金項目《中國現當代文學民族風格嬗變整體研究》，陝西省社科基金項目《長安佛樂國際化傳播平台綜合研究》，以及《陝西皮影藝術進軍國際市場戰略研究》、《中外文化交流視野下的唐代長安释教造像》等國際問題研究與國際相助項目。
曾獲陝西省第六屆高等學校教學结果獎二等獎。主講《藝術思維與要领》課程入選2011年首批國家級視頻精品公開課，2012年上線網易公開課，獲網易公開課2013年中國大學視頻公開課最具人氣課程。主講《藝術導論》入選教育部愛課程平台主推中國大學MOOC，2016年獲愛課程平台優秀教師稱號，2017年《藝術導論》獲得教育部國家精品在線開放課程。主講《藝術美學》課程入選2013年陝西省精品資源共享課。主講《視覺素養導論》入選東西部高校課程共享聯盟平台，主講《視覺與藝術》被評爲東西部高校課程共享聯盟名師課程，2017年入選國家精品在線開放課程。
